Band Biography
The Torpedoes will perhaps always be known as the first "Speed Surf" band. Guitarist Brian Pool adapted his shred metal training to a power surf trio format, chucking the fuzz and Marshall stacks for Fender Amps and a G&L ASAT. They were active in the middle 1990's, doing some extensive touring and releasing two CDs. Tragedy struck when their young bass player Jason Brown took his own life in 2000. They appeared on a CDRom game called Lego Island which sold more than a million units.
